The spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets have not been transferred to Qatar and remain subject to the 2023 agreement reached during the Biden administration. He stated that the funds are allocated exclusively for the purchase of humanitarian goods and have not been directly transferred to Iran. According to Arab News, the spokesperson also commented on the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, saying that Doha is coordinating and consulting with Oman to ensure the security of shipping and safe maritime passage in this strategic waterway.
