Maryam Nawaz Sharif, chief minister of Pakistan’s Punjab province, has said Punjab has entered the age of artificial intelligence, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains in the “Stone Age”.
Speaking at a laptop distribution ceremony for students in Sahiwal on Friday, 16 October, she criticised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), claiming the party had brought an end to its own government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Nawaz also accused the PTI of focusing on political protests rather than public services and development. She highlighted Punjab’s education and technology initiatives, including AI laboratories and laptop distribution programmes for students.
