The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has announced that its fighters carried out a targeted attack on a Taliban checkpoint along the Jalalabad–Kunar Highway in Shewa District of Nangarhar Province at around 12:25 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026. According to the group, three Taliban members were killed and two others were seriously wounded in the attack. The Afghanistan Freedom Front published the claim along with a video on its official Facebook page. The Taliban authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
