Netanyahu: US-Iran Agreement Does Not Mean the End of Confrontation With Tehran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that despite the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, Israel’s confrontation with Tehran is not over. Speaking at a news conference with Israeli journalists on Monday, June 15, Netanyahu claimed that the joint U.S.-Israeli operation against Iran had saved the country from what he described as a “nuclear catastrophe.” He added that although Tehran and Washington had reached an agreement, not all of Israel’s objectives had been achieved and the country would continue its efforts. The Israeli prime minister did not provide further details on what he meant by continuing this struggle. His remarks come as the recent agreement between the United States and Iran has been welcomed by a number of countries in the region and around the world. Many observers view the deal as a step toward reducing tensions and creating conditions for further dialogue between the two sides.
