U.S. President Donald Trump said that following a conversation with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it had been agreed that no additional Israeli forces would be deployed to Beirut and that forces already stationed there would be withdrawn. Wrote on Truth Social on Monday June 1 , Trump said he had held a constructive discussion with Netanyahu, resulting in a decision to prevent the deployment of further forces to Beirut and to gradually pull back those already present. The U.S. president also claimed that senior representatives had established contact with Hezbollah. According to Trump, the communication led to an agreement aimed at halting all hostilities between the two sides. Trump wrote: “Through high-level representatives, I had a very good telephone call with Hezbollah, and they agreed to stop all shooting; Israel will not attack them, and they will not attack Israel.” In a separate post, Trump responded to reports suggesting that negotiations between Washington and Tehran might have been suspended, stressing that the talks remain ongoing. “The negotiations with the Islamic Republic of Iran are continuing at a very high speed,” Trump wrote. The remarks come amid increased speculation in recent days regarding the future of U.S.-Iran negotiations and broader regional security developments. Trump, however, maintained that diplomatic engagement with Tehran remains active and that efforts to reduce tensions in the region are continuing.
