U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that China has agreed not to supply weapons to Iran. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said China supports his decision to keep the Strait of Hormuz open “forever,” adding that the move benefits China and the global economy. He also referred to a possible visit to China, saying President Xi Jinping would warmly welcome him, and described U.S.-China cooperation as “smart and effective,” suggesting it is preferable to conflict. Meanwhile, CNN previously reported that U.S. intelligence believes China could still supply weapons to Iran indirectly through third countries. China has also criticized the U.S. naval blockade of Iranian ports as dangerous, blaming rising tensions and disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz on U.S. and Israeli actions.
