ISLAMABAD: At least 12 Pakistani soldiers have been killed in an attack by Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters in the northwest of the country. The AFP reported on Saturday that the attack took place in South Waziristan, where a vehicle carrying Pakistani soldiers was ambushed. One soldier told AFP that TTP fighters also seized weapons and military vehicles during the attack. The Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility for the assault. South Waziristan has long been a hotspot for clashes between TTP militants and the country’s security forces.
