10 dead, 61 injured in Train-Bus collision in Mexico

KABUL: Mexican authorities have reported that a freight train collided with a passenger bus in central Mexico, resulting in the deaths of 10 individuals and injuries to at least 61 others. The incident occurred on Monday, on the industrial highway between the cities of Atlaquimulco and Maravatío in Michoacán state. The state prosecutor’s office confirmed that among the deceased are seven women and three men. In 2023 alone, over 12,000 accidents have been recorded on Mexico’s federal highways, leading to nearly 1,900 fatalities and more than 6,400 injuries.
