WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump stated that he agrees with Russian President Vladimir Putin that the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel should come to an end.
Following a phone call with Putin, Trump posted on his social media platform “Truth Social” yesterday, saying, “President Putin congratulated me on my birthday, but more importantly, we discussed Iran, a country he knows very well.”
Trump added, “We had extensive discussions.
There was a little focus on Russia and Ukraine, but that will continue in the coming week. He is now moving forward with a prepared plan for the exchange of prisoners, and many prisoners will be exchanged soon.”
The U.S. president mentioned that the call lasted about an hour, and Putin shared his belief that the war between Israel and Iran should be resolved. Trump also noted that he explained that his own conflict (in Ukraine) needs to come to an end as well.
