TEHRAN: In a military operation named “Lion’s Rise,” Israel has targeted several important and sensitive areas in Iran.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that this operation aims to “neutralize the threat of Iran’s destruction of Israel” and will continue as long as necessary.

Reports indicate that Major General Hossein Salami, the commander of the IRGC, and General Gholamali Rashid, the commander of the Khatam al-Anbia Headquarters, have been killed in these attacks. Additionally, Fereydoun Abbasi, former head of the Atomic Energy Organization, and Mehdi Tehranchi, the head of Azad University, have also lost their lives.

Iranian state media have reported explosions at multiple sites, including the Natanz nuclear facility in Isfahan province. Israel claims to have targeted centers related to Iran’s nuclear program and uranium enrichment.

Meanwhile, Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization has announced that the country’s airspace is closed until further notice.
