Joint Committee to combat wildlife trafficking to be established

KABUL: Taliban and Pakistani officials have agreed to collaborate on combating wildlife trafficking and have decided to establish a joint committee for this purpose.

According to the Taliban’s National Environmental Protection Agency, Mawlavi Matiul Haq Khalis, the head of the agency, met with Pakistan’s Minister for Climate Change on the sidelines of the international snow leopard conservation conference in Bishkek.

The two sides agreed to prevent illegal hunting and trafficking of animals and to collaborate on attracting international environmental projects and aid.

Also, the meeting emphasized the importance of joint efforts to address climate change at the regional level.
