KABUL: Sergey Shoigu, Secretary of the Russian Security Council, stated yesterday that a delegation from the council recently traveled to Kabul on the orders of President Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations and trade exchanges with the Taliban.

According to the Interfax news agency, Shoigu made the remarks at a press conference following the thirteenth international security conference in Moscow.

He said, “Recently, a delegation from the Security Council traveled to Afghanistan to discuss the next steps for advancing relations with the Afghan side.”

Shoigu noted that the Russian delegation held discussions with Taliban officials regarding
