WASHINGTON: U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his deep dissatisfaction with Russia’s attacks on Ukraine and stated that he is considering new sanctions against Moscow.

He made the remarks as Russia has intensified its missile and drone attacks on Ukraine.

Speaking to reporters in New Jersey, Trump said he is unhappy with Putin’s actions, noting that

“Putin is killing people and doesn’t know what he’s doing.”

Trump emphasized that he has known Putin for a long time, but now he is sending missiles into cities and killing people. He confirmed that he is definitely thinking about further sanctions against Russia to push Putin toward peace negotiations, although he did not announce any specific actions.

The comments come after strong criticism from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding the U.S. silence in response to Russia’s assaults.

Recent Russian attacks on various Ukrainian cities have resulted in 13 deaths and dozens of injuries.
