WASHINGTON: Mike Bost, the chair of the U.S.

House of Representatives Veterans Affairs Committee, described Bagram Air Base as the most advanced U.S. base for countering Russia, Iraq, and China.

He stated that during the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Afghanistan, advice was given to President Joe Biden to retain Bagram Air Base and station approximately 5,000 troops there.

Bost emphasized, “We are now facing threats from China, Afghanistan, and Russia, and Bagram could have been our most advanced air base in the region. I hope this issue will be reconsidered.”

Criticizing the manner of the U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan, he noted that even a regular soldier could have managed the operation better.

He remarked, “Even someone with an E1 rank (the lowest military rank in the U.S. Army) who has only played the game of ‘Risk’ could have executed this better.”

Bost stressed that the U.S. faces a threat from the unification of North Korea, China, Russia, and Iraq, suggesting that if these countries join forces, it would pose a significant danger to the U.S.

So far, the Taliban have not commented on Mike Bost’s statements.
