Amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it targeted the US airbase “Al-Salem” in Kuwait and the US Navy headquarters at Salman Port in Bahrain using ballistic missiles and drones, in response to recent US strikes. According to statements from Iranian state media, including IRNA and Tasnim, the attacks were carried out in retaliation for US bombardments of five coastal areas in Iran. Meanwhile, a US official told Reuters that the Iranian strikes have so far caused no casualties among US forces and have not resulted in significant damage to US military facilities. US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it conducted further operations against targets inside Iran following a reported attack on a commercial vessel. Iranian domestic media also reported explosions in the city of Sirik, near the Strait of Hormuz. The developments have raised concerns over a wider escalation in the region and its impact on Gulf security and international shipping routes.
