Kallas said she spoke by phone with Abbas Araghchi and exchanged views on the recent situation in the region. In a post on X, she said that “the resumption of attacks on Gulf countries and their critical infrastructure is unacceptable,” warning that a return to full-scale war would carry a heavy cost for the entire region. Kallas also confirmed that she had spoken with Kuwait’s foreign minister, stressing the importance of de-escalation and preventing further expansion of the conflict. She underlined that the “diplomatic path” remains the best option for ending the ongoing tensions in the region. In response, Abbas Araghchi condemned recent US attacks during the call, describing them as a “clear violation of the UN Charter and international law.”
