Iran destroys two vessels in Strait of Hormuz

Iranian state media have reported that Iran’s naval forces targeted and destroyed two vessels in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the reports, the vessels were targeted after they allegedly attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without what Iran described as “legal authorization”. In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the operation was part of efforts to maintain security in the Strait of Hormuz and enforce maritime regulations. According to the information provided, Iran has completely closed the Strait of Hormuz to traffic, while its naval forces are conducting patrol operations in the area.
