US President Donald Trump has said that the American response to the downing of the helicopter is “very important” and serious. A reporter from ABC television network said he was on a telephone interview with Mr Trump when US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced an operation against Iran. According to the reporter, Trump said: “They have downed our helicopter and we are right now in the process of responding.” He added: “This response is in reaction to what they did last night to our helicopter, and I believe this response must be very strong and powerful, and it is being carried out as such.”
