London – European leaders and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy have reached agreement in London on a five-point framework aimed at advancing efforts to end the war in Ukraine. The meeting, attended by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, focused on what the participants described as the goal of achieving a “lasting and just peace.” According to reports, the roadmap includes principles such as an immediate ceasefire, strengthened security guarantees for Ukraine, continued European military and political support, increased pressure on Russia, and a central role for Ukraine in any peace negotiations. European officials stressed that any potential agreement must preserve Ukraine’s sovereignty and security, adding that no decisions regarding Ukraine will be taken without Kyiv’s involvement. Zelenskyy described the talks as “constructive,” saying there had been limited progress toward peace, while noting that key issues, including the status of occupied territories and practical security guarantees, remain unresolved. The proposal comes as the war in Ukraine enters its fourth year, with diplomatic efforts to end the conflict continuing.
