Israeli military spokesperson Effie Defrin said on Sunday evening that, in his view, Iran committed a “major mistake” by carrying out missile attacks earlier in the day. Speaking in a press briefing in Hebrew, he said the Israeli military “will not allow the firing of missiles from Iran toward Israeli citizens to continue.” “We are prepared for the possibility of further attacks,” he added. According to him, air defence systems have been deployed across Israel, and the Chief of the General Staff is currently holding situation assessment meetings following the recent strikes. Defrin also stressed: “The Israel Defense Forces will continue its operations across Lebanon and will intensify its strikes against the terrorist organisation Hezbollah.”
