The Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir, has arrived in Tehran on an official visit, according to Pakistani state media. Pakistan’s Associated Press has reported, citing security sources, that during the visit Munir will hold talks with Iranian officials on the ongoing Iran–United States negotiations, regional peace and stability, and several other bilateral issues. This marks the second visit by Pakistan’s army chief to Tehran in approximately 40 days. On his previous visit, he met Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and members of the team involved in Iran–US negotiations, and held discussions. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Interior Minister has also travelled to Tehran for the second time in a week and is currently engaged in talks with Iranian officials.
