Iran’s Fars News Agency has reported that a United States Navy vessel was targeted by a missile attack near Jask while heading toward the Strait of Hormuz. According to the report, the vessel was struck by two missiles after it failed to heed warnings from Iranian naval forces. As a result, it was unable to continue its course and was forced to retreat. Earlier, Iranian naval forces had also stated that they had prevented U.S. destroyers from entering the Strait of Hormuz area through rapid warnings. In response, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has rejected these claims, stating that reports published in Iranian media about an attack on a U.S. vessel are not accurate.
