While the United States’ nine-point proposal focuses on establishing a temporary two-month ceasefire, Iran has introduced a 14-point initiative calling for a complete end to the war and a final resolution of key issues within 30 days. According to reports from several media outlets, including Tasnim News Agency citing diplomatic sources, the Iranian proposal emphasizes a “permanent end to the war” rather than extending a temporary truce, aiming instead for a durable and comprehensive agreement. The plan, reportedly conveyed to Pakistan as a mediating party, includes major provisions such as guarantees of non-aggression, the withdrawal of U.S. forces from areas surrounding Iran, the lifting of naval blockades, the release of frozen assets, compensation payments, and the removal of sanctions. It also addresses the cessation of hostilities across all fronts, including Lebanon, as part of a broader framework to resolve the crisis. Kazem Gharibabadi underscored Iran’s commitment to achieving lasting peace, stating: “This plan has been presented with the aim of permanently ending the war, and the decision now lies with the United States to choose between diplomacy or continued confrontation.” He made the remarks on Saturday during a meeting with several foreign ambassadors based in Tehran, where he outlined details of the proposal and reiterated Iran’s readiness for a diplomatic resolution. Meanwhile, Donald Trump announced in a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, that the proposal will be reviewed in the near future. These developments come as diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and reach a comprehensive agreement enter a critical phase.
