Palestinian local elections began Saturday morning across the West Bank and parts of the Gaza Strip, including Deir al-Balah. Around 1.03 million voters are expected to participate, casting ballots at 491 polling centers to elect representatives in 183 local councils. Rami Hamdallah, head of the Central Elections Commission, urged citizens to vote “freely and responsibly,” stressing the importance of public participation. Voting will continue until 7:00 p.m., with turnout updates released periodically and final results expected on Sunday.
