Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he held a “very good” phone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump regarding Iran. In a video message on Friday, April 24, Netanyahu stated that both sides discussed coordinating efforts to increase pressure on Iran. He added that Israel and the United States are working in full cooperation to intensify pressure on Tehran. According to Netanyahu, Trump is considering stronger economic and military measures against Iran. During the call, Trump also emphasized the continuation of the “maximum pressure” policy. Netanyahu further addressed the situation in Lebanon, saying that a process toward peace between Israel and Lebanon has begun, but accused Hezbullah of attempting to undermine it. This comes as Trump had earlier announced a three-week extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and raised the possibility of a meeting between the leaders of the two countries. In response, Hezbullah dismissed the extension as “meaningless” and stated that it reserves the right to retaliate against any Israeli attack.
