Over 6,000 Afghan Migrants Expelled from Pakistan in One Day

The Taliban’s High Commission for Refugee Affairs has announced that Pakistan expelled 6,148 Afghan migrants on Sunday, 30 Hamal. According to the report, the migrants returned to Afghanistan via the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings. It was also stated that an additional 471 migrants entered Afghanistan from Iran on the same day. In recent months, thousands of Afghan migrants have been detained and deported from both Iran and Pakistan. Following rising tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan in recent months, Islamabad has intensified its deportation process targeting Afghan migrants. International organizations have described the mass deportation of Afghan migrants from Iran and Pakistan as a violation of international law, warning that returning these migrants to Afghanistan is not safe.
