Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, has stated that negotiations between Iran and the United States have made progress, though significant differences between the two sides persist. In an interview with Iran’s state television, Qalibaf noted that despite advancements in the talks, substantial gaps remain unresolved. Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump also described the engagement with Tehran as “very good talks.” At the same time, two security sources in Pakistan told Al Jazeera that a new round of negotiations between Iran and the United States could take place before Friday, although no official announcement has been made so far. According to these sources, the arrival of two transport aircraft at Nur Khan Airbase, heightened security measures in Islamabad, and reports of restrictions at the Serena Hotel are being viewed as signs of preparations for the upcoming round of talks. The Serena Hotel previously hosted the first round of these negotiations on April 11.
