Taliban Claim Pakistani Military Casualties in Khost Border Clashes

The Taliban have claimed that six Pakistani soldiers were killed and 13 others wounded as a result of border clashes in Khost province. Bakhtar News Agency reported on Monday (April 6) that the clashes took place last night along the Durand Line. According to the Taliban, their forces acted in self-defense in response to attacks from the Pakistani side. The incident comes as talks between the Taliban and Pakistan aimed at reducing tensions are ongoing. According to reports, representatives of both sides are currently engaged in negotiations in China. Meanwhile, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, said during a consultative meeting attended by Central Asian countries in Kabul that efforts are underway to find a political solution with Pakistan. Border clashes between the Taliban and Pakistan have increased in recent months and, according to international sources, the tensions have resulted in civilian casualties and the displacement of thousands of people in border areas.
