Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament, has warned in response to Donald Trump’s ultimatum that the continuation of this course of action could turn the entire region into “hell.” In a message posted on the social media platform X, Qalibaf wrote that Trump’s “reckless” actions are pushing the United States in a direction that will turn into a “real hell” for all families. He also added that, due to what he described as Trump’s “following orders” from Benjamin Netanyahu, the entire region is at risk of burning. The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament emphasized that the United States will gain no achievements by committing what he called “war crimes,” and said the only real solution is “respect for the rights of the Iranian people and an end to this dangerous game.” These remarks come as Trump has given Iran until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, Eastern Time (early Wednesday morning Iran time) to reach an agreement, warning that otherwise “everything in Iran will be destroyed.”
