Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has stated that his country’s position is being misrepresented by U.S. media. Writing on X on Saturday, April 4, Araghchi thanked Pakistan for its efforts and said that Iran has never refused to travel to Islamabad. Araghchi added, “What matters to us is reaching a definitive and lasting end to the illegal war imposed on us.” He also wrote, “Long live Pakistan.” These remarks come as Pakistan and Turkey had previously been seeking to facilitate direct negotiations between Iran and the United States in order to reach a peaceful solution. Meanwhile, international media reported hearing several explosions in Tehran earlier today.
