Local sources report that at least two civilians were killed and 25 others injured in continued Pakistani military attacks on parts of eastern Afghanistan. According to reports, the attacks were carried out over the past two days using mortars, rockets, artillery, and drone strikes in the provinces of Kunar, Paktika, and Khost. All the victims are reported to be civilians, many of them children. Taliban officials said dozens of mortar and long-range artillery shells hit areas in Sarkano and Manogai districts of Kunar province. In the Dosaraka Nawapas area of Sarkano district, two people were killed and eight children were injured. In Paktika’s Shkin district, three civilians were injured in a drone strike. Reports also say that 185 long-range artillery shells were fired on Sarkano district on Thursday, injuring 10 more civilians. In Khost province, two more civilians were injured in a drone strike in the Jandughra area of Zazi Maidan district. Pakistani officials have not yet commented on the incidents.
