Reports indicate that following the first wave of Pakistani airstrikes targeting Kabul, Nangarhar, and Paktika, senior Taliban leaders, including Mullah Yaqoob, Sirajuddin Haqqani, and Tajmir Jawad, approved a plan to relocate members of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to northern provinces such as Balkh, Panjshir, Takhar, and Badakhshan. The reported objective of the relocation is to temporarily use TTP fighters to help protect areas against potential Pakistani military attacks. If the situation persists, these fighters may also be deployed for further military operations inside Pakistan. Field evidence suggests that the plan is already being implemented. Security experts warn that the arrival of hundreds of TTP fighters in northern Afghanistan could turn the region into a proxy conflict zone between the Taliban and Pakistan, increasing the risk of the north becoming a hub for extremist networks and posing a growing threat to civilian security.
