Protest Outside European Parliament Condemns Pakistan Over Strikes on Afghanistan

Afghan diaspora groups staged a protest outside the European Parliament in response to what they described as Pakistani air and ground attacks on Afghanistan. Protesters referred to the reported strike on the Omid hospital and called on international human rights organizations to respond to the incident. They also urged international organizations to designate the actions of the Pakistani military as a terrorist attack and to add it to international terrorist lists. Protesters said that the attacks carried out by Pakistan were not against terrorists but were against Afghanistan’s stability, values, and sovereignty. They described the attacks as a “deceptive policy” by Pakistani generals aimed at forcing their demands on Afghanistan. In a joint statement issued at the end of the protest, participants called on the European Union to pressure Pakistan to stop the ongoing attacks on Afghanistan and to respect its national sovereignty.
