The Taliban’s police command in Faryab has reported that armed robbers entered a goldsmith shop in Andkhoy district and killed two brothers, Khal Mohammad and Mohammad Nabi—one of whom was the head of the Andkhoy Goldsmiths’ Union—and injured another person. According to sources, the brothers were killed after resisting the attackers, who fled wearing Taliban military uniforms. Efforts to identify and apprehend the perpetrators are ongoing. Videos circulated on social media show the robbers entering the shop in Taliban uniforms and engaging with individuals inside. Similar incidents of theft involving attackers disguised as Taliban personnel have been reported previously.
