A newly released Global Happiness Index report shows that Afghanistan remains at the bottom of the rankings, while Nordic countries once again dominate the top positions. According to the latest report, Finland has been ranked the world’s happiest country for the ninth consecutive year, followed by Iceland and Denmark in second and third place, respectively. The rankings show that Nordic countries continue to lead globally in happiness levels. Sweden, Norway, Netherlands, Israel, Luxembourg, and Switzerland are also among the top ten countries. In contrast, Afghanistan remains at the lowest position in the index, once again ranking as the least satisfied country in terms of life evaluation. The report notes that life satisfaction in Afghanistan has declined compared to the baseline period between 2006 and 2010, with a drop of more than two points in recent years alone. According to the findings, although positive emotions globally still outweigh negative ones, negative feelings such as stress and depression are steadily increasing. The study assesses differences in happiness levels across countries based on six key factors, including social support, income, health, freedom, generosity, and perceptions of corruption.
