Local officials in Nuristan Province say Pakistani military forces targeted a civilian home with artillery fire in the Kamdesh District. According to a statement released by the provincial media office, Pakistani troops shelled the house of a civilian resident, killing one person and completely burning down the home. The statement also noted that, due to fear of continued Pakistani attacks, many families have fled from Kamdesh District and Barg-e-Matal District to other areas. The displaced families are currently in need of humanitarian assistance. The displaced households have appealed to relevant authorities and humanitarian organizations to provide urgent aid. Officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Nuristan said that 2,000 sacks of wheat have been allocated as initial assistance for the affected families and will be distributed once they arrive. Meanwhile, in a separate incident last night in Khost Province, Pakistani military attacks reportedly killed two children and injured two others.
