The Embassy of Russia in Kenya has announced that Russia has become the first country to send humanitarian assistance to Iran. According to the embassy, an Ilyushin Il-76 cargo aircraft from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations delivered medical supplies as part of the aid mission. Reports indicate that the aircraft transported more than 13 tons of medicines and medical equipment. The aid shipment was first delivered to Azerbaijan, from where it will be handed over to Iranian authorities. The Russian embassy stated that the assistance includes various medicines, first-aid supplies, and other essential medical equipment aimed at supporting people facing health-related difficulties. Russia said the humanitarian assistance was sent to support civilians, adding that the relevant Iranian authorities will distribute the aid among those in need. The aid comes at a time when reports indicate growing humanitarian needs in the region.
