EU Delivers New Aid to Treat Malnourished Children in Afghanistan

The European Union’s Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid department announced in a post on X that 270 tons of therapeutic food for the treatment of malnutrition have been delivered to Kabul through three flights. According to the statement, the shipment includes 20,000 boxes of therapeutic food supplies. These packages will be distributed by the United Nations Children’s Fund to support the treatment of children suffering from acute malnutrition. UNICEF said on Monday that it plans to provide treatment services for about 1.3 million children suffering from acute malnutrition in Afghanistan during the current year. Meanwhile, data from the World Food Programme indicates that a total of around 3.7 million children in Afghanistan are suffering from acute malnutrition.
