Pete Hegseth, the U.S. Secretary of Defense, has said that the current war with Iran is different from the United States’ past military experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan, emphasizing that previous strategies will not be repeated. He warned that airstrikes and military operations against Iranian targets are continuing and that further escalation of military action against Tehran remains possible. Hegseth said a time will come when Iran will no longer be able to sustain the conflict and “will surrender.” The U.S. defense secretary also added that United States will not disclose details about the scope or limits of its operations, but is prepared to take necessary measures to achieve its objectives. He stated that the U.S. military has so far struck around 3,000 targets inside Iran, including Iranian nuclear-related facilities. These remarks come as clashes continue between Iranian forces and the militaries of the United States and Israel, raising concerns about further escalation and widespread destruction across the Middle East.
