Russia Warns Global Security Framework Is Rapidly Collapsing

Sergei Shoigu, Secretary of the Security Council of Russia, has condemned recent attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, describing them as an unprecedented insult to international law. In a televised interview, Shoigu said that the global security architecture has been weakening and deteriorating day by day, warning that it is gradually losing its structure and effectiveness, with consequences across multiple sectors. He noted that in the past, countries at least attempted to present a justification or narrative before going to war, but said some states now launch attacks without even offering a reason. Referring to the escalating situation in the Middle East, Shoigu said developments in the region are extremely serious and could have long-term negative consequences for global stability. The senior Russian official also warned that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz for just one day could cause economic losses of around $7 billion. His remarks come amid growing criticism and concern as the United States has reportedly violated the airspace of several countries in recent months and issued threats of military strikes against others.
