United Nations: Afghan Women’s Voices Must Be Heard The UN Special Trust Fund for Afghanistan has stated that by supporting women and girls, it seeks to amplify their voices and narratives. In a post published Thursday (March 4) on its X account, the fund said that the resilience, determination, and leadership of Afghan women continue to inspire progress, even under the most challenging circumstances. The fund emphasized the importance of ensuring that women’s voices are heard, providing practical support, and reflecting their demands and perspectives. Currently, women and girls in Afghanistan face widespread restrictions that have significantly reduced their meaningful participation in society. Girls are barred from education beyond the sixth grade, and women have lost key individual and social rights since the Taliban returned to power.
