Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate and peace activist, reacted on the social media platform X to the reported killing of female students in Minab, allegedly in an attack attributed to the United States and Israel. She wrote: “They were girls who went to school to learn, with hopes and dreams for their future. Today, their lives were brutally cut short.” Yousafzai added: “I am heartbroken and terrified by the attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran, including reports that a girls’ school in southern Iran was targeted, resulting in many girls being killed and injured. The killing of civilians, especially children, is unacceptable, and I strongly condemn it.” She emphasized: “My heart is with the children, families, and communities affected by the escalation of tensions across the region. I firmly stand against violence and the targeting of schools and civilians. I call for an end to violence in the region, and justice and accountability must follow. All countries and parties must comply with their obligations under international law to protect civilians and schools.” Yousafzai concluded by writing: “Every child deserves to live and learn in peace.”
