Germany’s Federal Ministry of Interior has announced that it will not proceed with the relocation of more than 2,000 Afghan migrants currently residing in Pakistan. According to the website InfoMigrants, the decision remains unchanged despite increasing legal complaints filed by Afghan migrants in German courts. Earlier, these migrants had received assurances regarding their transfer to Germany. However, in November of last year, Germany revoked this commitment, stating that financial assistance would be provided if the individuals returned to Afghanistan or moved to a third country. Following the decision, more than 500 lawsuits have been filed against the German government, while approximately 90 cases are currently under review in appellate courts.
