TEHRAN: Following the reported killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in an Israeli-American strike, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran has announced that Tehran will launch its largest-ever attacks against U.S. bases and American allies throughout the Middle East. The IRGC described this wave of strikes as “the most severe” and said the initial targets would be U.S. military installations in the region. Iranian state television has officially confirmed that Ayatollah Khamenei was killed in the Israeli-American attacks on Saturday. Israel and the United States conducted deadly airstrikes against Iran yesterday (Saturday), prompting Iran to retaliate by targeting American bases in several regional countries. Analysts warn that Iran may now use its full military capability, which could result in either the expulsion of U.S. forces from the Middle East or the destabilization of the current regime in Tehran. So far, no country has publicly expressed support for Iran against the U.S.-Israeli actions.
