KABUL: The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has signed an agreement with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in Afghanistan, valued at approximately $10 million, to enhance the capacity of vulnerable communities to respond to natural disasters and climate change. The two-year project includes training for local populations, preparation for droughts and floods, and the establishment of local facilities to mitigate the impacts of climate crises. Afghanistan is among the ten countries most vulnerable to climate change.
