KABUL: The UN Women’s section has highlighted that girls worldwide challenge gender stereotypes daily across various fields, from education and sports to innovation and work, showcasing their capabilities. The organization emphasized, “We must always remember that girls are empowered, and we should create a world that provides equal opportunities for them.” Previously, the UN has stated that equal access to education, supporting girls’ involvement in technology and innovation, and combating discrimination are crucial steps toward empowering the next generation. Conversely, the situation for girls in Afghanistan is alarming, with many deprived of basic rights such as education, work, sports, and active participation in society.
