KABUL: The Taliban Ministry of Higher Education has announced that university classes will begin in the warm provinces on February 4 and that the spring semester will start in the cold regions on March 6. According to the ministry’s schedule, the semester will conclude on Jawza 7, 1405, in warm areas and on Saratan 6, 1405, in cold regions. However, universities remain open only to boys, and girls have been prohibited from attending since November 2022. Additionally, medical institutes closed to girls in December 2023, and secondary schools above the sixth grade have also been inaccessible to them since August 2021.
