KABUL: Turkey has announced a contribution of $500,000 to the Afghanistan Humanitarian Assistance Fund. The fund expressed gratitude for this assistance via its X page. The fund stated that the money would be used to address the urgent needs of returnees and internally displaced persons. This special fund was established by the United Nations, and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that approximately 21.9 million people in Afghanistan need assistance in 2026. OCHA emphasized that fulfilling the needs of this number of people requires $1.72 billion.
