KABUL: Richard Lindsay, the UK Special Representative for Afghanistan, met with Sardar Ahmad Shakib, the Taliban ambassador in Pakistan. Lindsay posted on X that the discussions focused on regional security issues and the impact of Taliban policies on women and girls. Since regaining control of Afghanistan, the Taliban have deprived women and girls of their rights to education and work, severely limiting their presence in society. The UK representative has previously called for the lifting of these bans, but the Taliban have yet to respond.
