KABUL: In an audio recording of General Mobin, a pro-Taliban YouTuber currently imprisoned, that was circulated on social media, he expressed dissatisfaction with the Taliban’s leadership and stated that on “Judgment Day,” none of them would be able to answer God regarding the reasons for his imprisonment. Mobin, who refers to himself as “General Mobin,” was sentenced to one year and six months in prison by the Taliban’s judicial authorities in the month of Saur (April) 1404. Sources indicate that the prison sentence was issued based on his “incompatible” statements and behavior towards the official policies of the Taliban. Previously, in one of his videos, he referred to the Taliban regime as a “milacracy,” a term that is not tolerated even among their own supporters. The Taliban have not formally disclosed details regarding the reasons for his arrest and sentencing. In the early months following the Taliban takeover, General Mobin served as a spokesman for the Taliban’s police commander in Kabul. However, he was later removed from that position and turned to business.
